Application
Manifold Sensor is used on all Low Pressure Fuel System 6300 S350 engines. Manifold has four fitting installed in various orientations.
Problem
Customer approached ESP to assemble a small sensor manifold. They had concerns about the sensors being contaminated or damaged during assembly. With annual volumes approaching 50k units any labor saving would be significant.
ESP Proposal
ESP Engineering would create an automated assembly fixture to install the fittings and indicate the part number.
Solution
ESP Engineering built a fully automated Poka- yoke station that took assembly time from 2 min to 45 seconds. The four PLC controlled air operated DC guns with controllers make this a fast and easy operation.
