Tetrafluoroethylene Propylene (TFE/P) O-Rings

Tetrafluoroethylene Propylene (TFE/P) O-Rings Material Description:

Tetrafluoroethylene Propylene (TFE/P) o-rings are a copolymer made up of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and propylene. TFE/P has excellent resistance to ozone and weathering along with a wide range of chemicals, including acid, base, and steam. A reliable choice for applications that work in tough environments. Applications include Automotive engine coolants, motor oils, some brake fluids, and steering fluids; food and pharmaceutical applications, wide temperature range from -40° C to +200° C with special formulations to 250° C. Disadvantages include high compression set and extrusion resistance especially at high temperatures.

PTFE orings are rigid and offer little elasticity. Low frictions reduces wear and is impervious to many chemicals. It offers good high temperature protection in addition to its high pressure capability. PTFE o-rings can be formulated with fillers to add to the charachteristics needed for your application.

Engineered Seal Products has the expertise and inventory for your tetrafluoroethylene propylene (TFE/P) o-ring applications. For over 50 years, ESP has been the leading engineering, quality, and supply chain choice for both standard and custom sealing applications. A seal, no matter the application, has to do just that.

Temperature ranges will apply to the majority of media for which the material is potentially recommended. With some media however, the service temperature range may be significantly different. ALWAYS TEST UNDER ACUTAL SERVICE CONDITIONS.

ESP’s shelf life recommendation is based on the AS5316 standard and intended to be utilized by those organizations who do not already have specific recommendations for the control of elastomeric seals. It should be noted that the packaging of the elastomeric seals prior to assembly into a product is an integral part of the controlled storage procedure. It provides a positive means of product identity from the time of manufacture to the time of assembly.
